Report: East Prairie School District spent $19,621 per student in 2019-20

Spending per pupil at East Prairie School District 73 was up 42.7 percent from five years ago, according to the North Cook News analysis of the latest Illinois schools report card district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2019-20 report card showed the Cook County school district spent $13,749 per pupil in 2015-16. It spent $19,621 in 2019-20.

The district's enrollment rose from 521 to 527 students over the same period.

East Prairie's spending in 2019-20 was 35.4 percent higher than the state average of $14,492.
