The Village of Glencoe is delinquent in filing its annual financial report with the state, according to Illinois Comptroller Susana Mendoza.

The report, covering Glencoe's 2021 fiscal year starting Mar. 1 2020 and ending Feb. 28, 2021, was due on Aug. 27.

According to Mendoza, Glencoe did not receive approval for a deadline extension from her office.

Glencoe, pop. 8,723, had 137 employees, annual tax revenues of $32,077,474 and annual expenditures of $29,066,166 according to its 2020 annual financial report. It reported $19,889,685 in bonded debt, or about $6,192 per Glencoe household.

The Village Manager of Glencoe is Phil Kiraly, 41. He has been in the role since 2019. Kiraly worked previously as assistant village manager for Northbrook (2008-13) and Deerfield (2004-2008).

Glencoe's finance director is Nikki Larson, who has served in the role since 2018. She previously worked as finance director of the Village of Vernon Hills.

Glencoe Village President is Democrat Howard J. Roin, an attorney and retired partner at Mayer Brown LLP in Chicago. He was first elected in April, running unopposed. Roin replaced Larry Levin.

Other area municipalities Mendoza is citing as delinquent in filing annual financial reports are Lake County (FY 2020, due July 28, 2021), New Trier Township (FY 2021, due Aug. 27, 2021), the Village of Morton Grove (FY 2020, due Aug. 28, 2021), the Village of Niles (FY 2020, due. Dec. 26, 2020), the Village of Riverwoods (FY 2020, due Aug. 28, 2021) and the City of Zion (FY 2019, due Dec. 26, 2019 and FY 2020, due Dec. 26, 2020).
