Motorists in Illinois are being cautioned that traffic on Interstate 55 over the Des Plaines River will likely be slowed to allow routine bridge inspections from Aug. 7-17, according to the Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT).
Lane closures will be conducted between 7 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Mondays through Thursdays, IDOT said in a news release.
Motorists are being urged to be cautious, look out for workers and equipment and pay attention to road signs in the work zones, as well as obeying posted speed limits.
