The price of local government: Village of Niles

The Village of Niles budget was $89.70 million for its 2015 fiscal year, or $8,551.49 per household.

That's a decrease of 4.2 percent from 2014, when the village spent $93.66 million, or $8,929.24 per household.

Niles has 10,489 households and a population of 29,803.

Since 2001, the Village of Niles budget has grown by 6.5 percent, from $84.23 million. The village population has fallen 0.9 percent over the same period, from 30,063.
