New Trier High School has recently come under fire from conservative parents over an upcoming civil rights seminar that some parents say is lacking conservative voices.
Robert Blackwell wrote the post below on Facebook regarding the seminar:
I am a black parent of a child at New Trier
I am offended that Black Lives Matters was invited to speak at the school.
This organization does not represent black people and is not the morale equivalent of the Southern Christian Leadership Conference which was led by Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
This is from the Black Lives Matter website - We are committed to disrupting the Western-prescribed nuclear family structure requirement by supporting each other as extended families and “villages” that collectively care for one another, and especially “our” children to the degree that mothers, parents and children are comfortable.
Does anyone with half a brain think that destroying the Nuclear family will make black lives better - Government programs have destroyed the black family . Black illegitimacy rates went from under 20% to over 75% in one generation. If you are black, white or Martian if you have a child out of wedlock before you are 21 you are going to be poor.
"We are committed to embracing and making space for trans brothers and sisters to participate and lead. We are committed to being self-reflexive and doing the work required to dismantle cis-gender privilege and uplift Black trans folk, especially Black trans women who continue to be disproportionately impacted by trans-antagonistic violence."
What has this got to do with Police Brutality?
"We are committed to practicing empathy; we engage comrades with the intent to learn about and connect with their contexts."
They should just admit that they are a group of extreme left wing socialists that has NOTHING positive to offer accept Marxist revolutionary propaganda.
Blacks do have real challenges in this country as we do everywhere.
But instead of looking at systems that have taken millions of people out of poverty and advocating for applying those principals to our current situation they advocate for the LUNACY of the far left and systems that have created massive poverty and misery.
Free societies are the best way for people to move from poverty to prosperity. The alternative, collectivist societies create poor, corrupt and hopeless societies.
Where in the world are poor people healthy, educated and safe? No where that I know of. Where are affluent people not healthy, educated and safe?
All this emphasis on trying to make whites feel guilty for the real and perceived sins of descendants of Europe is non productive.
I have a daughter that is affected by autism and I feel blessed by God that she was able to attend New Trier. The students and faculty treated her like an Angel. She loves the school and I am more grateful than I can express to the school for her experience there.
This group does NOT represent the best of black Americans and does not advocate anything that has a track record of making black lives better.
If you want to hold a seminar on Socialism then invite whoever you want. But don't have a seminar of Race and invite socialists that have no other message except America and White Americans in particular are evil.
White Guilt doesn't make black lives matter and neither does America bashing.
