The City of Des Plaines Planning and Zoning Board met at 7 p.m. Wednesday, July 13.
"The Planning & Zoning Board conducts public hearings on petitions from the public for variations, conditional uses and development proposals requiring relief under the City of Des Plaines Zoning, Subdivision, and Sign Codes. The PZB has final authority to grant some exceptions. However, in most cases it makes a recommendation to the City Council which makes a final determination as passed in a city ordinance."

The petitioner is requesting a Standard Variation under 1.) Section 12-7-1.C of the 1998 Des Plaines Zoning Ordinance, as amended, to allow an above ground swimming pool in the front yard; and 2) Section 12-8-2 of the 1998 Des Plaines Zoning Ordinance, as amended, to allow a 6' high fence in the front yard, where a maximum of 4' high fence is permitted.
