Streamwood trustees discuss Summer Celebration

The Village of Streamwood board of trustees met at 7 p.m. yesterday, July 21.

The Streamwood Village Board includes the village president and six trustees. They are charged with making policy decisions regarding annexation, taxes, budgets, contracts, citizens’ and others’ concerns, development improvements, establishing and maintaining codes, and the establishment of license fees and other charges.

Summer Celebration

Summer Celebration will be held Friday, July 29 through Sunday, July 31 at Hoosier Grove Park. Join your friends, family and neighbors for a “Picnic in the Park.” The festival starts on Friday, July 29 at 5:00 pm. On Saturday, our annual parade begins at 10:30 am, stepping off from Streamwood Boulevard and Bartlett Road. Sunday starts out with a golf outing at Streamwood Oaks Golf Club at 7:30 am. The festival ends on Sunday, July 31, at 8:00 pm. Please remember parking is restricted at Hoosier Grove, but free shuttle buses are available from Village Hall, Park Place and, new this year, Hanover-Countryside Elementary School. Ordinance – Approval of Amendment to Title 8 of the Village Code / Public Ways and Property

Request the Board approve an Ordinance entitled “AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 3 ENTITLED “WATERWORKS AND SEWERAGE SYSTEM REGULATIONS” OF TITLE 8 ENTITLED “PUBLIC WAYS AND PROPERTY” OF THE VILLAGE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE VILLAGE OF STREAMWOOD, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS” This Ordinance is being presented for second reading and passage.

This Ordinance amends Chapter 3, of Title 8 by adding Section 8-3-13-1 entitled “Required Use of WaterSense Products” requiring the use of plumbing fixtures designated as WaterSense products by the United States Environmental Protection Agency.

Ordinance Amendment – Rules and Regulations/Civil Service Commission

Request the Board approve an Ordinance entitled “AN ORDINANCE APPROVING THE REVISED RULES AND REGULATIONS OF THE CIVIL SERVICE COMMISSION OF THE VILLAGE OF STREAMWOOD, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS.” This Ordinance is being presented for second reading and passage.

This Ordinance Amendment approves the revised Rules and Regulations of the Civil Service Commission. Revisions were necessary to build on the Board of Trustees goal of succession planning and encouraging the internal growth and development of staff at all levels.
