Today is deadline to apply for vacant Streamwood trustee seat

Villageofstreamwood

Applications to become a Streamwood Village Board trustee are still being accepted through today, which is the deadline.

The trustee will serve until April 2017, the end of the current term of the vacated seat.

Prospective trustees must be at least 18 years old, as well as a current Streamwood resident and a registered voter in Illinois. They also must be available to attend board meetings on the first and third Thursday of each month. Additionally, they are required to serve on various committees and participate in community functions.

Completed applications should include the applicant's updated resume. On the application, applicants are required to state why they are interested in applying for the position, what their priorities would be if they are selected and what they consider to be the key issues facing the village board. They are also asked to give their thoughts on topics such as the village's budget process, what economic incentives should be offered to attract new business development and what factors should be considered when making decisions on controversial issues.

Applications can be found on the village's website at streamwood.org or at the village president's office at Streamwood Village Hall, 301 E. Irving Park Road.
