The Mount Prospect Committee of the Whole reviewed and discussed the proposed resident satisfaction survey questions for the planned community survey at its March 22 meeting.

The committee meets at 7 p.m. on the second and fourth Tuesday of the month in the third floor board room at 50 S. Emerson St.

The village board of trustees approved a $21,600 contract in February with ETC Institute to conduct a community survey. The survey is a high priority in the strategic plan implementation guide, as it is intended to capture data about residents' opinions about programs and services offered by the village.

The survey provides a five point rating scale, from very satisfied to very dissatisfied. Among the proposed categories are customer service by the village, fire services, human services, police services and the village website. The committee was able to discuss and offer suggestions on ways to refine the questions.

ETC begins with standardized questions that will allow for comparisons with similar municipalities in the region. Some questions are modified to collect data on specific services and programs in the village. The resident satisfaction survey should take approximately 20 minutes to complete.
