The City of Park Ridge will hold its fourth and final budget workshop for fiscal year 2017 at 7 p.m. today, March 23, at the City Hall Council Chambers, 505 Butler Place.

Each of the remaining funds will be reviewed by the group, including the projected fund revenues, funding sources and expenditures.

After reviewing and updating the scoreboard, the group will review and discuss Capital Projects, City Administration, Contingency Planning, Human Resources, Legal, Legislative and Two Year Projections. The results of this workshop will be compiled with the first three workshops by the city manager, who will build the final proposed budget for presentation to the city council.

The final budget must be balanced. All funds, except the equipment replacement fund, must balance with the anticipated revenues and funding sources equal to or exceeding the proposed expenditures.

The city council will hold the public hearing on the 2017 budget on Monday, April 18. Following the hearing, the council will pass the budget. It must be passed by April 30, so it can be implemented on May 1. The city's fiscal year runs from May 1 to April 30, 2017.
