A presentation on Maine Township and updates on ongoing business were on the agenda of the March 8 meeting.

The Park Ridge Human Needs Task Force met on March 8 in the second floor conference room at City Hall, 505 Butler Place.

At the meeting, Richard Lyon and Anna Dziekonski gave a presentation on Maine Township.

Maine Township is the oldest government in the area. It was founded in 1850. Its Town Hall is located at 1700 Ballard Road, Park Ridge. Maine Township maintains an emergency food pantry for its residents in the Township Hall basement. The Human Needs Task Force continues to contribute to the food pantry.

After the presentation, the task force moved on to ongoing business matters. Community needs were reviewed and discussed. The task force also reviewed its funds of $1,209.99. The group was also updated on the food drive. At the previous meeting on Feb. 9, the group was updated on the schools' decision to extend the food drive for an extra month. The donation bins will be stored at the Township Hall until the next food drive.

After hearing the agency and church reports and reviewing new business, the meeting was adjourned. The next task force meeting is scheduled for April 12.
