Schaumburg Septemberfest planning continued last week at the Septemberfest Committee meeting.
The Septemberfest planning was in full swing at the Schaumburg Septemberfest Committee meeting on Feb. 1.
The 2016 event will be the 46th annual Septemberfest, held on the grounds of the Robert O. Atcher Municipal Center. It is scheduled for Labor Day weekend: Sept. 3, 4 and 5.
At the previous meeting, the committee approved a variety of bids for services, including electrical, fireworks, sanitation and security. The winning bid for security was passed on to the village manager designee for approval, as the lowest bid was not accepted. The committee agreed that the scope of the low bidder's experience did not match the size of the venue. The committee approved the bid from Capital Security & Investigation, which supplied security services for the previous three years.
The crafter information and application are posted on the Village of Schaumburg website. Important dates for applicants to remember are April 10, the online or postmark deadline for the crafter application and jurying fee of $5. On May 10, the jury results are sent out to applicants; on June 10, the booth fee deadline.
The next Septemberfest meeting is scheduled for March 7 at the Prairie Center for the Arts in Meeting Room A.
