Public hearings for 1200 Elm St. and 501 Busse Highway were held Tuesday at the Planning and Zoning Commission meeting.

Public hearings for 1200 Elm St. and 501 Busse Highway were held Tuesday at the Planning and Zoning Commission meeting.

The City of Park Ridge Planning and Zoning Commission held two public hearings at its regular meeting on Feb. 9.

The first public hearing reviewed the application for 1200 Elm St., which requested a zoning change from R-2 Single Family to R-4 Multi-Family Residential District and a site plan review. The commission heard the application and called for public comment.

After completing the first public hearing, the commission moved on to the second public hearing.

The applicant had requested a special use permit to allow an assisted living facility at 501 Busse Highway. The application also requested a site plan review for a retail commercial building at the same site. The application was discussed by the commission, and input from the public was requested.

After the two public hearings, the commission heard a report from the City Council Liaison, before continuing the discussion on other items. The commission invited citizens to comment on non-agenda items before adjourning the meeting.

The next two meetings of the Planning and Zoning Commission are scheduled for Feb. 23 and March 8.
