The July 3 fireworks-display contract is scheduled for approval at the Wheeling Board of Trustees meeting at 6:30 p.m. today in the Wheeling Village Hall Boardroom, 2 Community Boulevard.

The resolution will waive competitive bids and allow the village manager to contract with Melrose Pyrotechnics for the public fireworks display. The contract is not to exceed $25,000.

The fireworks display will be held at Chicago Executive Airport in the same location as last year. It will comply with the 2012 International Fire Code and National Fire Protection Association Code for fireworks displays.

The board also will discuss a parking-lot development in the Crossroads TIF District and transferring title of Village property to Consolidated Commercial Properties LLC.

The board also will discuss possible tax-increment-financing-eligible improvements at  Arbor Court Apartments.

Amending the village code with an ordinance regarding collection agencies or attorneys attempting to collect unpaid fines is also up for discussion. The board also will review and discuss purchasing two medium-duty Horton ambulances from Foster Coach Sales for $535,510.

The board also will enter executive session. Upon its return, it will take action on any items discussed, if necessary.
