City of Park Ridge requests volunteers for local boards, commissions.

The City of Park Ridge is looking for residents willing to volunteer to serve on one of the city’s boards or commissions.

There are several vacant positions, including four on the Fair Housing Commission, one on the O’Hare Airport Commission and one on the Zoning Board of Appeals (ZBA).

To apply for a position on a board or commission, interested residents should fill out the application found on the city’s website, www.parkridge.us. Locate the Our Government tab, then click on the Boards, Commissions, Committees and Task Forces link on the left side of the page. Look to the right for the link to the application form. Residents can also review the various boards’ and commissions’ descriptions and duties on that page.

Applicants must turn in the application and a résumé before Jan. 18 via email at cpeterso@parkridge.us or by fax at 847-318-5300. Hard copies of the application are also available at City Hall.

The Mayor’s Advisory Board will interview the applicants and give its recommendations to the mayor. The members of the board include Daniel Knight, chairman, and Aldermen Mazzuca, Nicholas Milissis and Roger Shubert.
