Village of Northbrook Plan Commission to review new application, hold first public hearing.

Village of Northbrook Plan Commission to review new application, hold first public hearing.

The 1810 Skokie project will be reviewed tomorrow, Jan. 5, at Northbrook Plan Commission's first public hearing on the project.

The first public hearing of Rover’s Place, 1810 Skokie, will be reviewed at the Northbrook Plan Commission at 7:30 p.m. tomorrow, Jan. 5, at the Northbrook Village Hall, located at 1225 Cedar Lane. The application was made by Family Futures Group Inc., doing business as Rover’s Place.

The applicant is a potential lessee at 1804-1818 Skokie Blvd. The property is owned by Edens Tower LLC. The commission will review and discuss a special permit to allow animal training, grooming, daycare and a boarding kennel on the property. It will also review variations, waivers and zoning relief that may be necessary for the business.

Rover’s Place is currently located at 1238 Old Skokie Road. It has been at this location since 2006 but must relocate because another business is expanding. The two buildings at 1810 Skokie Blvd. were previously used as an emergency and specialty veterinary hospital. The total square footage of the two buildings is approximately 7,500 square feet.

The commission will review village staff reports, the project summary and site photos, traffic plan data, materials submitted by the applicant and the draft resolution.

The commission will also hear comments, concerns and questions from the audience. After reviewing the 1810 Skokie application, the commission will attend to both old and new business before adjourning.
