Des Plaines City Council to meet in closed session, followed by regular meeting

The Des Plaines, Illinois City Council will meet on Monday, Dec. 21 in a closed session, followed by the regular council meeting.

The closed session of the Des Plaines City Council will begin at 6 p.m. The closed session's agenda includes setting a price for the sale or lease of property, purchasing property and collective bargaining.

The regular meeting of the council will follow at 7 p.m. in Room 102. After calling the meeting to order, State Sen. Matt Murphy (27th District) will make a presentation to the council.

The public will be invited to express concerns and comments regarding matters not on the agenda. After public comments, the city Clerk and aldermen will make announcements.

The Consent Agenda contains items ready for approval. The accompanying resolutions are already prepared for signature after the vote and include: Expenditures for testing for a Police Sergeant list with Industrial Organizational Solutions Inc., Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) sub-recipient agreements for PY2015, intergovernmental agreement with Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) for street maintenance, intergovernmental agreement with O'Hare Noise Compatibility Commission (ONCC), $55,647 change order for City Hall repairs with A-1 Roofing Company, agreement with Rickman Contract Services for meter reading services and transfering real property from the Rosemont Park District to the City of Des Plaines.

The Committee of the Whole report will include the warrant register for $3,580,879.22 and the build-out application for Le's Nail and Spa on 1108 Lee St.

Unfinished Business will be followed by New Business, which includes approvals of the warrant register, Le's Nail and Spa application, initiating an advisory public question on the city's logo and tagline and expenditures for using the city's logo and tagline.

Following the manager's report, alderman and mayoral comments, the meeting will be adjourned.
