Wheeling Park District to hold public hearing on budget

A public hearing is scheduled for Dec. 15 at 7 p.m. on the Wheeling, Illinois's Park District budget.

Residents are invited to attend the Wheeling Park District board of commissioners public hearing on the proposed 2016 Budget and Appropriate Ordinance. The hearing will be held in the Community Recreation Center boardroom at 333 W. Dundee Rd.

To preview the proposed budget ordinance, go to the Administrative Offices of the Wheeling Park District at 333 W. Dundee Rd., Wheeling. A copy of the budget is available for public inspection.

The mission of the Wheeling Park District is to enrich the community through parks and recreation with classes, open spaces, parks and gymnasiums. The seven member board is committed to providing recreational opportunities to all members of the community. The commissioners are elected to four-year terms and serve without compensation. The current board consists of President Sue Stein, Vice President Brian Lichtenberger, Mike Burns, Cheri Klumpp, Mike Kurgan and Rich Rosen.

The Park District board of commissioners meets at 7 p.m. on the first and third Tuesdays of every month. The public is invited to attend and share comments or concerns with the board.
