Passport app allows riders to pay for Prospect Heights Metra Station parking.

Prospect Heights Metra riders will be able to use PassportParking mobile pay app starting Dec. 1.

"The Passport mobile payment app is an exciting update to our Metra Station parking location," Mayor Nicholas Helmer said. "This will make paying for parking and getting on the Metra as quick of a process as possible."

The Passport app allows Metra riders to pay for parking by using a smartphone or tablet using a credit card instead of cash. Riders simply enter the zone number on the Passport sign, their license plate or space number and length of stay into the Passport app. Frequent riders can pre-fund their Passport Mobile Wallet account, making the process faster. If plans change, the Passport app allows a rider to add more time onto the parking space remotely.

Metra riders must download the free PassportParking app for iOS or Android devices from the iPhone app store or Android Google Play marketplace. Alternately, riders can register online at www.ppprk.com. Metra riders who do not have a smartphone or tablet can also call 847-380-4332 to pay by phone with a credit card.
